چکیده

In this study, we evaluated the effects of municipal solid waste compost supplemented with inorganic N on physicochemical properties soil, plant growth, nitrate concentration, and antioxidant activity in spinach. Experiments were carried out neutral acidic soils that low organic matter. A fertilized soil was used as a control, while four treatments—two rates 35 70 t ha−1, or not (92 kg ha−1 Ca (NO3)2)—were applied by fertigation. The addition increased matter content pH both soils. supplementation greatly shoot dry weight spinach fresh yield nearly 109%. With highest rate 43% applied, soils, similar to results obtained (3.8 m−2). combined application could replace P K fertilization significant extent. at considerably decreased Mn concentrations.

Effects of manure, municipal waste compost and nitrogen on weed communities in corn (Zea mays L.)

A two year field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of municipal waste compost (C), composted cattle manure (M), and nitrogen (N) on growth and composition of weeds in a corn field in Shiraz using a split-split plot design with 3 replicates. Visual inspection of the plots showed that the manure treatments neither introduced new weed species nor increased weed density more than t...

Nitrogen management considerations for landspreading municipal solid waste compost.

Many municipalities have examined composting as an alternative to landfilling for the management of organic solid waste materials. Ultimately these materials will be land-applied and therefore some knowledge of nutrient availability will be necessary to optimize crop yield and minimize environmental risk. Field studies were conducted in 1993 and 1994 on a silt loam and a loamy sand soil in Wisc...

Effects of Inoculating Microbes on Nitrogen Form During the Municipal Solid Waste Compost

Inoculating two kinds of microbes (MS compound strains and ZHJ fermentation), study on the effect of the MSW compost on the nitrogen and maturity, the results showed, comparing with that of compost primary, the content of total nitrogen obviously declined at the end of the MSW compost. The two kinds of microbes could accelerate the transform of water-soluble NH4-N and the formation of the water...

Chromium uptake by rice and accumulation in soil amended with municipal solid waste compost.

Effect of addition of municipal solid waste compost (MSWC) on chromium (Cr) content of submerged rice paddies was studied. Experiments were conducted during the three consecutive wet seasons from 1997 to 1999 on rice grown under submergence, at the Experimental Farm of Calcutta University, India. A sequential extraction method was used to determine the various chromium fractions in MSWC and cow...
